We have been super busy here at Conglass – we are full swing in calving, with Patrick up at all hours to check his cows and we have been all over the place racing! No complaints though as its great to have the horses out and the calves are extremely cute! (pictures below)

We had Bright Prospect at Catterick Bridge on 26th February – he made the running and jumped fantastically but unfortunately was slightly disappointing at the finish when two horses finished ahead of him. We will have think about what to do with him and hopefully get him back out again soon.

We then had Lovely Schtuff and Captain Kurt at Carlisle on 7th March. Lovely Schtuff was also slightly disappointing, he jumped ok but was out front most of the way and didn’t quite keep up with the horses in the end to finish in 6th. Captain Kurt made a very pleasing effort, he was running in a shorter much faster trip than he has done previously, but he give it his all and finished in 3rd – a great effort from him!

Then on Sunday 10th March we ventured down to Alnwick point-to-point with LadyVie to met Lucy and them to have a spin in the Ladies race. This was Lucy’s first race since breaking her ankle in November, and it didn’t disappoint. They had a safe round and managed to finish strongly to get 3rd place. A great confidence booster and Lucy was beaming for the rest of the day!

Jackie and Patrick have also taken a well deserved, short break to head down to Cheltenham to enjoy some great racing over the next couple days.

We have entries for Saturday at Newcastle, all being well, for Lovely Schtuff and a first run for Bermondsey Belle – lets hope for safe and improved runs for both of them.
