Jackie Stephen Racing is now based near Lilliesleaf in the Scottish borders. We are a family-run dual purpose yard, training racehorses and providing opportunities for affordable horse ownership and sponsorship.
“We have a very hands on approach which involves
working with each horse individually over a period of time, trying to understand how to get the best of them.
We believe in keeping them fit, healthy in
body and happy in mind.”
Jackie Stephen has been involved with horses all her life. Her career has taken her all over the UK, including working with point to point horses in the South West of England, to training National Hunt horses in New Zealand where her passion for working with racehorses was fully ignited.
Jackie Stephen Racing is a family run yard, which is now based near Lilliesleaf in the Scottish Borders. Our new location allows us to be closer to a number of Scottish and northern race meetings. Currently we have 25 boxes, a circular sand gallop, 5 furlong up hill carpet gallop, new indoor monarch walker and lots of grassland.
Jackie worked with Lucinda Russell’s National Hunt yard before setting up her own first yard in Perthshire where she pre-trained and freshened up horses for other trainers. In 2010, Jackie met farmer Patrick Stephen and moved to Conglass Farm, Inverurie. Following a successful period as a permit trainer, Jackie was granted a full training license in 2015 – enabling Jackie to train horses for other people. Since then we have gained a dual purpose license allowing us to train horses on the flat and in summer 2021 moved the yard to the borders.
