Last week we had 3 horses down at Perth – Bermondsey Belle, Welcome Ben and Highland Peak. Bermondsey Belle ran rather disappointingly, not showing much engagement with the race and pulled up.
Welcome Ben ran in his usual fashion, setting the pace out front and jumping well however he didn’t have much left after the second last and ended up finishing 4th.
Highland Peak was unfortunate as at the first he jumped well but was very close to others and had no room to land and was literally knocked off his feet and slipped off to the side. He seems none the worse from this fall and so will hopefully run again soon.
A slightly disappointing day but nevertheless the horses are all fine and Rach even managed to find the golden ticket which was hidden at the racecourse as part of the celebrations of racing staff week. She managed to bag herself a £100 voucher!
It is going to be a quiet few weeks here with not much in the ways of racing for us but we have brought majority of the horses who were on summer holidays back into work.
