This week we had 4 runners, a nice change for what seems like a quiet patch. First on Thursday we had Amilliontimes and Bright Prospect at Carlisle. Amilliontimes ran well in a decent paced race. He jumped well and was his usual consistent self, he always tries his hardest gaining on the other horses and ended up finishing 5th. Bright Prospect ran a pleasing race as he has been off after a long break. It was a solid performance for a come back and he will need a further trip but we were keen to get him back, he too finished in 5th.

On Saturday we had Starozov and Captain Kurt racing in the same race at Kelso. It was a first time hurdling for both of them. Starozov has run in point-to-points before we bought him in August. He ran a good race under Callum Bewley, jumping well and finished in a pleasing 3rd. It was great to have the Jackie Stephen Racing Club colours back out in action and a good result for all the club members. Captain Kurt made his jumps debut and was ridden by Lucy Alexander. He was bred locally and came to us unbroken. It is fantastic to see him jumping and racing well, he finished not too far behind Starozov in 4th – 3rd and 4th in the same race, a good day! It was great to have so many horses out this week and all performing well, heres hoping the season continues this way!
