The end of January and beginning of February brought some very cold weather to Aberdeenshire. We weren’t as effected with snow as some other part of the UK were but we did get the bitter cold below zero temperatures. Leaving everything frozen, including automatic water drinkers for the horses and cows! Most of the days was spent gritting, defrosting and hoping for warmer weather! Persistence was key and we managed to keep going with relatively high spirits, well as high as they could be in -9 temperatures!

Last week the racing industry was hit with the equine flu, shutting racing down for a week. Racing resumed today, Wednesday 13th February and hopefully we will have runners soon. We haven’t been in direct contact with the virus, but nevertheless have taken precautions to eliminate risk.
