It seems that January has been one long battle against the minus temperatures everyday. With gritting the yard, defrosting water pipes, harrowing the gallops and a list of other extra jobs just to get the horses to and from work , there has been a huge effort by all the team just to get the horses exercised and cared for.We have had a few entered for various meetings but these have been abandoned either for frost or water logging or sometimes both!
We have managed to get some of the horses away to the beach at Foveran which makes a nice change for both horse and rider.
We have several horses coming back into work as they have been on a break to try and avoid some of the deepest winter ground.
