With racing suspended until July for national hunt and early May for the flat we have been relatively quiet on the yard. We’ve furloughed some of the team and turned away most of the horses for some holiday time. Not that they are complaining because the weather has been super for them. Sunshine most days, warm temperatures and very little rain – they have been very lucky really!

We have kept 6 horses in light work for the time being, these being the horses we think will likely run once the suspension has been lifted. For us we hadn’t had that many runners due to very soft ground and had prepared a lot of horses for the better spring ground so it feels like a while since we last had a runner! However, we keep going and have had a lot of extra time on our hands so we have been busy disinfecting and painting empty stables. This has given the yard a nice clean feel and really brightened it up. Lockdown has been a weird time for everyone but we are very grateful for our surroundings and having the horses to keep us busy.

With some of the extra time the girls have taken to TikTok (sorry for those who don’t know this but basically they make videos to songs), we have included some of these below, as well as some pictures of what we have been up to recently.

We hope everyone is staying safe and healthy and hopefully this will all pass soon and some kind of normality will resume.
