The past few days have brought lovely weather to Aberdeenshire, a nice treat for easter weekend! We took advantage of this by taking 4 horses to the beach for a fun trip for staff and horses in the sunshine. Highland Peak and Welcome Ben, experienced in beach trips, were leads to Schiehallion Ridge and the newly named Kilfinan Bay who as youngsters hadn’t ventured to the beach yet. This was a great experience for both of them and good practise at travelling ahead of their first bumper this Friday at Perth. Great to have the ‘local’ track back in action meaning our journey times are significantly less, especially with the Aberdeen bypass!
We bought both Schiehallion Ridge and Kilfinan Bay last year at the store sales in May and are excited to get them out racing after breaking and producing them. We also named both of them after key places in Scotland. Schiehallion Ridge is out of Mountain High so we thought it would be good to name him after a Scottish mountain and Kilfinan Bay is named after a beautiful beach on the west coast, near to where some of Jackie’s family live.
